2010 Rules for All Classes
1. A designated safety inspector and/or class representatives will conduct random inspections throughout the season. Inspector and class reps have the right to check tractors for any item in the rules or weight. They may request tractors to run across the scale at any pull. You will be disqualified if you are in violation of any rules or safety regulations.
Safety rules
2. (Tractors and drivers that do not meet the following requirements will not be allowed to hook):
a. Helmet required
b. Fire jacket and fire pants required
c. Kill switch must be installed and working & tractor must have a battery disconnect switch. All drivers must be able to shut down tractor from driver’s seat and tractor must have safety disconnect at the rear of tractor where the skid hooks onto tractor.
e. Safety blanket required.
f. ROLL CAGES ARE REQUIRED. Roll cages must be certifiable per the NTPA guidelines “Exhibit A” which are considered “official specifications”.
g. 5-POINT DRIVER HARNESS REQUIRED. Harness must be SFI approved.
h. Tractor must be equipped with minimum of one 2.5-pound dry-powder type fire extinguisher, fully charged, with gauge in working condition, and convenient to operator.
i. Transmission Blankets & Shield around all rotating parts is required
j. NO cast hubs allowed
k. Dead man throttle (springs) required
l. Neutral safety switch required
m. Turbo charged engine must have (2) 3/8 inch bolts (Grade #5) in vertical portion of exhaust pipe(s). Bolts to be installed 90 degrees to each other, within one inch of each other.
n. Turbo charged engines are required to have one cable that must surround the engine block and head. This cable must be placed between first and second cylinder through exhaust manifold port area.
o. Cable must be minimum of 3/8 inch thickness
p. Cable must have a minimum of (2) clamps at the splice
q. Must have a 3 way dump valve before fuel pump.
r. WIDE FRONT ENDS REQUIRED ON ALL TRACTORS except hot farm.
s. Unsportmanlike conduct will result in 1yr. And 1weeek suspension. No refunds
3. Two hooks only per tractor.
4. Entry fee at each pull will be paid by the puller and will be advance entry fee price since CMP member’s names are sent to promoters prior to the pull.
5. Disqualification – an out of bounds DQ will be given only if the tractor goes out, not if the skid flaps or skid goes out and full points will be awarded by CMP. Some of the promoters do not agree with this rule and will not recognize this as a “good pull” and will not award you a trophy or cash prize. If the promoter does not record your footage because they call it a DQ, your placing in your class and points will be negotiated and decided by your class rep. If DQ is final only hook points will be granted.
6. Maximum tire size is 30.5 inches x 32 inches
7. Hitch height must be maximum 20” at hook point and must be minimum 18” from center of rear axle.
8. When backing up to the skid, either wheelie bar or rubber stop should hit the skid not the tires.
9. Anyone found cheating will be disqualified and no place money or points will be granted for that pull.
10. Promoters must be made aware of any tractor that uses alcohol. Their insurance requires this – the fire department handles alcohol fires differently.
11. If you choose not to pull because of track conditions – you do not receive points for that class.
12. Board of Directors President and Vice President, will decide all controversies.
13. CMP requires 8 classes in order for the pulls to be considered points pulls as follows:
a. 5700 Hot Farm
b. 6200 Hot Farm
c. 6000 Modified
d. 6500 Modified
e. 6500 Prostock
f. 7000 Prostock
g. 8500 Unlimited
h. 9000 Unlimited
14. Points awarded:
1st place 15 points + 15 hook points = 30 points
2nd place 14 points + 15 hook points = 29 points
3rd place 13 points + 15 hook points = 28 points
...And so on.
15th place 1 point + 15 hook points = 16 points
Any place after 15th place will receive 16 points
All CMP Paid pulls will be 30 hook points
15. Miscellaneous information
a. Points for placing are based on CMP members only at each pull.
b. If your tractor breaks in the light class and you cannot pull again, you will receive hook points and last place points for your heavy class.
c. Cancelled points pull(s) (rain) – Hook points will be awarded to anyone that shows. We will not reschedule pulls that are cancelled due to weather.
d. Weight will be certified at or before first pull of the season and 15 points will be awarded for attendance. Members will be notified in advance of location for safety inspection and weigh-in.
e. Protest fee will be $150 for all weight and/or rules challenges. All tractors for that class will go across the scale.
f. Board of Directors can have a class weighed at any time.
g. The promoters of point’s pulls will be sent a list of drivers and tractors prior to the pull and the order they will pull in. There is no need for CMP members to sign up ahead of time at points pulls. If you cannot make it to a pull, please notify CMP secretary so they can get the information to the promoter.
h. CMP is incorporated as a limited-liability corporation in the State of Minnesota. CMP will require a 1-time fee of $25.00 with your membership. CMP LLC. will take full responsibility for any mishaps.

17. Regulations of the track:
a. Track must be minimum 30’ wide
b. Track must have boundaries marked with chalk, stakes, or both.
c. 75’ Retry (must attempt to stop by 75’)
d. Flagman on the track must be visible, an orange vest is recommended.
18. CMP is governed by a board of directors elected to 2-year terms.
19. Membership fees:
$35.00 per tractor, per class for membership ($70.00 for 2 classes)
$100.00 per tractor for spectator liability insurance
$20.00 for CMP stickers, two stickers, 1 for each side - one time
$25.00 for incorporation fees - one time fee.
$55.00 for one time hook fee Per Class
$100 Late Fee after Annual meeting
To be eligible to vote, membership & Insurance must be paid At Annual Meeting
No special arrangements will be accepted or tolerated.
You will not receive points until any payment due is in CMP’s possession. It is advised that you pay your membership dues prior to the first pull so there are no controversies or conflicts. You are not added to CMP’s insurance list until we have received your membership dues so you cannot pull for points until this is received and you have been added.
20. Points winners: Checks will be issued to all members at the banquet or annual meeting (will not be mailed out) for points earned during the season. Banquet is always the first Saturday in December. Annual Meeting is always the third Saturday in January.
Class Rules
5700 & 6200 Hot Farm Gas or Diesel (No Alcohol)
1. Motor stock appearing Block, Oil pan base
2. Motor stock appearing intake single updraft carburetor
3. Motor has to match frame of tractor (length, width, & height)
4. Original pulling point for drawbar
5. Original wheelbase & rigid front end or narrow front
6. Must have working governor or rev limiter Max R.P.M must be under 5500
7. Must be naturally aspirated No fuel injection
8. Max tire size 18.4 x 38
9. Steel flywheels
10. No illegal or duel fuels.
11. NO forms of nitro methane (including nitrous oxide and propylene) as a fuel or fuel additive for pulling. No oxygen or propane allowed.
13. Diesels stock appearing fuel pumps
14. No Turbo
6000 & 6500 Modified Gas Tractors
1. Limited to three engines.
a. Production up to V8 OEM gas engine only
2. Single engine
a. No limits on add on's such as nitrous, blower, etc
3. Two engines small block
a. Maximum two engine allowed
b. Must be small blocks OEM block & heads
c. One carb. per engine
d. One add on
e. No alcohol
4. Two big blocks or three small blocks
a. Cast iron heads block, one carb. per engine
b. No add on’s
c. No Alcohol
6500 & 7000 Prostock Tractors
1. Limited to one engine - OEM cast iron block & head for that make of tractor
2. Any engine over 300 series is limited to one turbo, no limit on turbo size.
3. Any engine up to 300 series is limited to two turbo's, no limit on turbo size
4. Turbo charged engine must have two 3/8 inch bolts (Grade #5) in vertical portion of exhaust pipe(s). Bolts to be installed 90 degrees to each other, within one inch of each other.
5. No illegal or duel fuels, Diesel fuel only
a. All forms of nitro methane (including nitrous oxide and propylene) as a fuel or fuel additive is prohibited.
b. No oxygen or propane allowed
6. Turbo charged engines are required to have one cable that must surround the engine block and head. This cable must be placed between first and second cylinder through exhaust manifold port area.
a. Cable must be minimum of 3/8 inch thickness
b. Cable must have a minimum of two clamps at the splice
7. Must have a 3-way dump valve before fuel pump
8. All drivers in this class must be able to pull the air and fuel shutdowns from drivers seat. Air and fuel must shut down from rear of tractor where skid hooks onto tractor.
